Great editorial by Brian Lowry in Daily Variety today about the shift in what we dig in our fictional medical personnel. Used to be we wanted empathetic nice guys, now we’re after professional badasses that are just as personally flawed as we are. It’s interesting thinking about what this means with the current healthcare debate, especially in the face of the success of reality medical programs like Dr. Oz featuring “old school” empathetic characters.
