My road trip weather condition nightmares consist of heavy rain, snow, sleet, and fog. Today, we experienced all four. 12 hours ago, Rom, our friend Lorenzo, and I embarked on a journey many Los Angelenos partake in every January – the long 10-12-hour drive to Park City, Utah. aka Sundance. Leaving later than expected, around 1 pm, we were optimistic. “We’ll get there by midnight or so” we said, “1 AM at the latest.” So, here we are 12 hours later. Not in the large pine tree-scented, oaky lodge complete with fireplace, full kitchen, and hot tub that I was promised, but rather, the Quality Inn, in Cedar City, Utah. Still four hours from our destination, we wait impatiently (Lorenzo sleeps) for the snow to stop, so we can continue the journey. In the meantime, we’re watching Philadelphia and enjoying some pumpkin cookies. Sundance, here we come!…Tomorrow.
UPDATE….check out the mess we were driving through after the jump.
Ugh.
